Trees of the Outer Bluegrass-Louisville Tree Week

Where: Meet at the Picnic Pavilions behind the Nature Center
Naturalist Jacob Crider will take you on a hike to discover the Trees of the Outer Bluegrass. Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve is situated in the Outer Bluegrass region of Kentucky, a physiographic region of limestone, rolling hills, and rich woodlands. Come hike with us and see a multitude of deciduous and coniferous trees and a variety of wildlife. On this 1.5-2 mile trek we will be learning about tree identification, uses, Kentucky forest ecosystems, foraging, and much more.
Wear comfortable shoes for walking on uneven ground. Difficulty is easy to moderate.
We encourage you to bring binoculars (if you have a pair), a camera or smartphone, and plenty of curiosity.
