We have a new family of Bluebirds that are in the process of laying eggs. She laid her first one on May 30 and has laid an additional one each day, she laid 4 total eggs by June 3.  She will likely be sitting on the eggs for about 13 days, so we should see them hatch around June 16 or 17.

During the day the feed is in color, at night it will be in black and white.

This is the write-up for the first pair this year. We have a Bluebird that has built a nest now in Box 2 and she started laying eggs on April 8. She is laying one egg a day. Once she has finished laying enough eggs then she will start staying on them to get them ready to hatch. She waits until she has laid most of them so that they will hatch fairly close together. As of April 13, she has laid 5 eggs and seems to be staying on the nest now. We had 4 babies born as of the morning of April 26. The baby birds will fledge and leave the nest in 16 – 21 days usually, so May 11 or so we may start seeing them leave. They are already getting feathers as of day 11. On May 15 around noon,  the first baby fledged and the second one left at almost 2pm. The third one left at around 2;30 and the last one left the nest around 5pm. Its been fun to watch, stay tuned for who will next be in our nest box. The video below is the last 12 hours that the babies were in the box. The video ended just after 5pm so you can back up and see them leaving. See you soon.
