When: Saturday, June 21st

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Where: Inside the Nature Center followed by a walk

We are thrilled to partner with the Louisville Audubon Society to offer this special workshop with scientist Dr. Margaret Carreiro.

Have you ever seen something in nature and wondered what it was? This program will help you find the answers. Dr. Carreiro will teach us how to use the iNaturalist app to identify species, contribute to biodiversity research, and track your discoveries.

Margaret created the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve Project on iNaturalist, to ensure on-site discoveries will be logged. Maybe you will spot the next exciting discovery at Creasey Mahan (or in your own backyard).

This workshop begins at the Nature Center, followed by a walk where we will practice our new identification skills.

REQUIRED: Attendees will need a smartphone device with the iNaturalist app installed (available for download in the App Store and Google Play).

About Dr. Carreiro: Margaret Carreiro, Ph.D. Biology and retired UofL Professor (Board Member of Louisville Audubon Society and President of the Louisville Chapter of Wild Ones Native Plants and Natural Landscapes)
