Hours of Operation
Creasey Mahan’s grounds are accessible at no charge from sunrise to sunset 365-days of the year.
The Nature Center building is our natural history museum, and it’s open hours are listed here.
Drones & Other Unmanned Vehicles
Drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles, including remote control aircraft and ground vehicles are not permitted. The ban is aimed at protecting wildlife, visitor experiences, and preserving the natural soundscape. If in violation of this ban, your equipment may be confiscated and fines may be enforced.
Photography
Professional photographers (who are paid for their services) need to report their session dates and times via email Info@KYNaturePreserve.org. A minimum donation of $50.00 is required. Click here to donate.
Taking photos and videos for personal use does not require a donation.
Pets & Animals
Dogs must be leashed at all times. This is an Oldham County law. Owners are responsible for removing their pet’s waste and placing it in the provided receptacles.
Do not release any animals (such as pet turtles, fish, frogs, mice, rabbits, birds), as they may carry diseases and harm our ecosystem and resident animal populations.
Observe the wildlife all around you at Creasey Mahan. Do not remove or disturb the wildlife under any circumstances.
Vehicles
No wheeled vehicles such as but not limited to bicycles, golf carts, and motorcycles are allowed on trails or fields. Wheeled vehicles are restricted to the service roads. Exceptions include strollers, wheelchairs, and motorized wheelchairs.
Please park in designated areas.
Weapons & Hunting
Possession of firearms is prohibited.
No weapons of any kind for sport or practice, including but not limited to paintball guns, BB guns, bows and arrows, and hunting knives.
No hunting or fishing is allowed.
Smoking
Smoking is prohibited, including the use of electronic cigarettes.
