Some birds of prey are also known as raptors, including hawks, owls, eagles, and falcons. They mainly survive by hunting vertebrates, such as reptiles, smaller birds, and mammals.
Join Austin on a walk to search for evidence of birds of prey using Creasey Mahan’s grounds for hunting, nursing, and nesting.
The bird walk will begin in the woodland areas, as we scan the shaded canopy for owls returning home after a long night. We hope to encounter species of all sizes, such as Red-shouldered Hawks to the small American Kestrel.
Recommendation: Bring binoculars, water, and wear good hiking footwear.
Hike difficulty: Moderate
