Join Lee Payne Jr. for a look at two of Kentucky’s most remarkable fall journeys. Each September, songbirds and raptors funnel through our region on their way south, filling the preserve’s skies and woodlands with activity. At the same time, monarch butterflies pass through Kentucky on their  trip to the mountains of central Mexico.

Lee will help participants spot and identify migrating species overhead and explore what makes Kentucky an important stopover for both birds and butterflies.

Wear comfortable shoes for walking on uneven ground. Difficulty is moderate.

We encourage you to bring binoculars (if you have a pair), a camera or smartphone, and plenty of curiosity.
