DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 14\, 10am – noon\, FREE (please RSVP below)\nHosted by The Louisville Audubon Society and Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve\nThis wonderful event is co-hosted by The Louisville Audubon Society and is free to attend.  \nBeginning to advanced bird watchers (of all ages) are invited to attend this fun birding event at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve. If you’ve always wanted to learn about our feathered friends\, you are invited to join us. \nBirders from across the nation will be tracking bird populations\, and we are doing our part\, as we have for 18 years and counting! \nWe will meet inside the Nature Center before heading out on a walk led by birding experts (and phenomenal photographers)\, Lee Payne\, Jr. and Brandon McQueen. With their guidance\, you will learn to identify and count birds.  \nLater\, our sightings will be reported to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. This is citizen science at its best! \nHot chocolate and other beverages will be available inside the Nature Center\, along with free crafts for kids.

SUMMARY:Grants Giving 5K Timed Run and 3K Walk/Run
DESCRIPTION:The Grant’s Giving 5K timed run will also feature a 3K Walk/Run and will be held at Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve in Goshen\, KY.  The conclusion of the event will feature food trucks\, music\, and fun! \nGrant Tucker was a vibrant little boy\, beloved in his community of Goshen\, KY. Grant passed away Nov. 21\, 2020\, just days after his 12th birthday. This community event is multipurpose as it was created in remembrance of his passing and celebration of his birth. Proper pruning strategies and timing of the pruning as well. Good mulch and mulching practices help too\, while also limiting herbicide use on and around the tree. DESCRIPTION:Co-Sponsored by Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve and Nanz & Kraft Florists \nSaturday\, January 18th \n10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. \nInside the Nature Center \nCost: $45 per person\, includes a glass container\, three plants\, and other elements \nGrab your spot in this master class with terrarium expert Deirdre Barnett\, to learn how to create a low maintenance mini-garden. Deirdre will demonstrate methods for layering and creating a wondrous terrarium from start to finish\, and offer tips and tricks to care for the small plants. She’ll display some of her terrariums and show photos as inspiration. \nEvery participant will receive a covered glass terrarium\, three plants\, soil/charcoal mix\, decorative stones\, and guidance by Deirdre. Additional embellishments will be available during the class for an extra donation. \nParticipants are welcome to bring their own containers and decorative items. \nAll participants of the terrarium class will receive a 10% coupon at Nanz & Kraft Florists\, valid for two months!  \nIf spots are full\, email us at Info@KYNaturePreserve.org to be put on a waitlist. He is back in town and offered to host this wonderful walk. He hopes to see familiar species like chickadees\, titmice\, bluebirds\, and woodpeckers\, but also some of our migratory species like kinglets\, harriers\, kestrels\, and sapsuckers! \nWear comfortable shoes for walking on uneven ground. Difficulty is moderate. \nWe encourage you to bring binoculars (if you have a pair)\, a camera or smartphone\, and plenty of curiosity. \n\n\n***REGISTER BELOW***
